Description: Explore the Enchanting World of Iblard
The imaginary world of Iblard, which appears in Studio Ghibli’s animated film Whisper of the Heart, captivated not only Ghibli fans but countless others with its richly colored, imaginative landscapes brought to life on the screen. The artist behind this extraordinary world is Naohisa Inoue. For more than 50 years, Inoue has continued to expand the world of Iblard through his art. This book brings together a wide-ranging selection of its many landscapes and scenes in a single volume. Unbound by the laws of physics or the conventions of the real world, Iblard continues to expand as a vivid world of imagination. Now, the culmination of Inoue’s mesmerizing artistic universe has finally arrived. Featuring approximately 200 representative works, this volume also includes numerous rare croquis, rough drawings, sketches, and other preparatory works. As you turn each page, you will catch glimpses of just how many drawings Inoue has created over the years to bring this vast and immersive world to life.
